Rights of a father and unborn child

In the UK, a father does not have any legal rights or responsibilities in respect of an unborn child. This means that he cannot make decisions about the pregnancy, such as whether to continue with it or terminate it, and he cannot be held financially responsible for the child until it is born. However, after the child is born, the father can acquire legal rights and responsibilities, such as parental responsibility and child support obligations, by being named on the birth certificate or through a court order.
