FURTHER INFORMATION

A mild infectious disease that affects most children at some point.

Spots usually starting on the chest, back, head or neck. Child is usually unwell with spots (which will eventually blister and then scab) and a fever.

Plenty to drink and paracetamol (avoid ibruprofen as it can cause skin complications). Try to stop your child scratching the spots if you can as it can leave scarring. Baths, loose clothing and camomile lotion can ease the itching.
