Conjunctivitis or "pink eye" is an eye infection that will usually get better within 1-2 weeks.
Red and itchy eyes. Possible pus produced that causes the eye lids to stick together. May also burn.
A cold cloth to ease the pain and soreness and a warm wet cotton ball to wipe away any puss. Wash cloths and pillows etc to limit chance of passing it on to others.
Pharmacists will also have over the counter treatments available.
